NFC Checkpoint
A physical tag scanned by an officer's phone to prove presence at a specific location.
NFC (Near Field Communication) checkpoints replaced older pipe/wand scanners. A small tag is affixed at a patrol point; the officer taps it with a phone; the system logs a timestamped, location-verified event. NFC is cheap, tamper-evident, and works offline.
How SNTNL uses it
SNTNL supports both NFC and pure-GPS geofenced checkpoints so operators choose the right tool per site — NFC where signal is weak, geofences where deployment speed matters.
