Mobile patrol is a different business than standing guards — you're selling visits, not hours, and the economics live in stops-per-hour versus windshield time. Good mobile patrol dispatch software handles four jobs: building efficient routes, verifying each stop actually happened (GPS, checkpoint scans, photos), slotting on-demand calls into live routes, and generating per-visit proof clients can see. If your software can't prove a 2:47 AM visit to a client who was asleep, you're selling a promise, not a service.
Mobile patrol asks a harder question than standing-post software answers, thirty times a night: "did the vehicle actually visit all thirty properties, do the required checks at each, and can we prove every one of them?" 1. Route building. Turn a book of patrol contracts into nightly routes: which properties, how many visits each, in what sequence, within what time windows. Good tooling handles the constraints that make this hard — client-specified windows ("after bar close"), randomization so visits aren't predictable to anyone watching the pattern, and per-stop task lists (check doors, tag vehicles, photograph the pool gate). Routes should be versioned: when a client adds a third nightly check, the route updates once and every driver sees the current version.
2. Stop verification. 4. Proof per stop. Every verification event should roll up automatically into a per-visit record the client can receive — without an admin assembling it. - Price by geography, not just by property. - Track actual stops-per-hour per route. Scheduled route plans decay — construction, gate changes, visit-length creep.
